Dionaea muscipula - Venus Fly Trap

The Venus flytrap is probably the most popular of the carnivorous plants. It's like something from another world and really sparks the imagination, especially in young people.

It's fairly easy to look after, full sun and lots of rain water or distilled water. They will die off as the Winter comes in and will need a little care over the cold season to make sure it appears again in Spring.

When the plant is small, cut off the flower stems, as letting the Venus Flytrap flower will prevent growth. When it gets bigger you can let it flower.
